  1. Question: Who killed Bodega? How does this affect the neighborhood?

Bodega was killed the same day that Vera shot her husband. Chino wondered who actually had the guts to kill Bodega since he was changing the neighborhood into a better place. The next day, Chino was taken to the police station for investigation. Since Nazario was a good lawyer it was very easy for him to convince Chino that it was Fishman who killed Bodega. In addition, Nazario also told the cops that John Vidal was shot by Bodega since he was already dead and there was no reason putting more people in jail. Once Chino arrived home, he walked in on Blanca and Negra talking something very important. They needed to tell him who actually killed Bodega. In page 200 it says "My mother tells me that years ago her sister went out with lots of guys... but the guy she was in love with wasn't named William Irizarry. The guy she really loved, his name was Edwin Nario". This quote shows that Chino's nightmare has been confirmed, Nazario has been planning this moment ever since Vera got back with Bodega. The death of Bodega also affected the neighborhood because he helped many people get into apartments at a cheaper price. The hispanics that lived in the neighborhood will remember Bodega by a young man that had a dream to change the community and it was slowly coming true.

  2. Who killed Bodega?

In the book "Bodega Dreams" by Ernesto Quinonez, Nazario was the one that killed Bodega. Nazario and Vera had planned it already to kill him. They had this plan for a while. On page 203, Chino says " I figured that Bodega remained in the dark right up until Nazario reached for his gun to shoot him." According o this quote, Nazario is responsible for the killing of Bodega. When Chino heard that Bodega was killed by one of his mans, he was i shock. Also Sapo couldn't believe it either. Sapo could not do nothing about. Chino thought that right when everyone heard that Bodega died, there was going to be chaos. But the streets were silent. No one took the streets.

    Question: Who killed Bodega?
Answer:When Bodega died, Chino thought that fishman killed Bodega . Chino knew that it wasn't fishman who killed Bodega. According to this quote "I know everything ....This works for all of us .For all he people .We all had to cleanse ourselves.Only by killing Willie and laying all the blame on him could that be accomplished .Everyone is clean Julio .....You betrayed all those beautiful things ". Show that chino already knew that who killed Bodega was Nazario not anybody else . This was important for them because they found right away who killed Bodega.

Question:How does the killing of Bodega affects the neighborhood ?How does chino feels about the neighborhood after Bodega dies?
Answer:In the book "Bodega Dreams" by Ernesto Quinonez the killing of Bodega affects the neighborhood because Bodega helped many people get into apartment at a cheaper price. The hispanic that lived in the neighborhood will remember Bodega as a young lord because he wanted to make , not only the hispanic harlem a better place.According to this quote " Willie Bodega doesn't exist.....The old man gripped his grandsons han tighter , picked up his suitcase , and walked away. A few steps on , he asked someone else. Someone who would hopefully know where Bodega was and wouldn't disappoint him....PERA!! I yelled at him to wait . He kept on walking , so i went after him....i showed them to their room , which blanca and i had hoped would belong to the baby.He thanked me repeatedly ". shows that chino is becoming like Bodega to help the neighborhood become better by giving the old man a room to sleep in.

  5. How did chino react to Bodegas death? Chino was shocked when the police told him that bodega died. He wasn’t that sad, but he was confused and nervous because he got the news out of nowhere and he found out by the police when they came knocking on his door because he was a suspect. “William Irizarry is dead,’ Ortiz said. My empty stomach began making dying-animal sounds.” Chino got nervous because he was kind of close to Bodega and he was concerned with who had shot him.

  6. Question:Why would Chino feel sad about the death of Bodega if he was not really into him in the first place?

Chino feels sad because he realizes that without Bodega Spanish Harlem will not become successful. Towards the end of the story a man walks up to Bodega because he needs a place and work then the man along with his grandson become sort of nervous after Chino tells him that Bodega does not exist. Chino then tells the gentlemen,"'Pera!...you can stay with me. I have an extra room. My wife left for a few weeks." This shows that because Bodega is no longer alive things around the neighborhood will become out of place from people not having jobs to live to others not having a place to live. Bode was a big part of Spanish Harlem because he was the one to help people with these type of problems. This makes Chino sad because he remembers at one point in his life when he needed a home and he also might might think that that would be horrible if his family had to live like that.

  7. What was Nazario plan in the book?

In Bodega Dreams by Ernesto Quinonez, Nazario was portrayed as this elegant class lawyer who works for Bodega. In the book Nazario always does the work for bodega that involvs deals and legal work. Little by little Nazario was Bodega main man and his enemy in the low all that Nazario did for Bodega would later benefit Nazario. In the story Nazario had everything planned he manipulated chino and bodega to get what he wanted which was Vera, his plan was to get Vera because Vera and Nazario were the true lovers. An example "No, the only one better of is you.You keep Vera, she keeps her husband's money, and you keep willie's power." This shows Nazario had everything planed with Fischman and Vera and Bodega he got what he wanted which was his true love and Wille power but in the end he didn't planned out that they will find out what he has done and didn't think of the consequence.

  8. how is the legacy of bodega passed down to chino?
when bodega dies chino feels heart broken because he felt that bodega had the potential to change the neighborhood. He sees that from the help that people got from bodega, the people were able to live a more normal without crime or drugs. when chino is walking on the street coming back from bodegas funeral it says"you can stay with me. i have an extra room." this shows that the the ideas of bodega helping people passed down to chino because chino now wants top help people as well. He sees this old man and his nephew and gives them the support they need to start their new life in america. this is how the legacy of bodega went down to chino.

  9. who killed bodega?
when Chino learned that Bodega died his first suspect was fishman because Chino knew far fishman had a war for territory but what China did not know was that Nazario was who earned more with Bodega dead than alive because Nazario not only would stay with their business if not with Vera. One evidence of this is that Blanca says ‘’vera was in love with a man named Nazario something’’ when Blanca told this to Chino, Chino understood everything, Vera just wanted Bodega to get rid of husband for this is why he asked to Bodega to teach him to shoot and Nazario used to fishman to cover it was he who killed Bodega envy and power.

  10. How did Chino feel about Bodega at the end? At the end of the book we see Chino go to the funeral and we see him have a chat with Nazrio about him killing Bodega. Nazario first says,"Everyone is clean Julio ...You betrayed all those beautiful things ". Nazrio try's to convince Chino to just let it go but he know better. We see he says that Nazario betrayed all those good things Bodega was trying to do for the community. Chino then tells the cops to arrest them. When Chino is alone he starts to think of what Bodega represented and the good he was trying to do for people. He says El Barrio felt cold and sad without his presence. Although Chino thought at first that Bodega was bad and that he should not get involved, he then knows that he was doing the right thing to stand up. At the end Chino had a big amount of respect for Bodega admiring what he had done for the community and its people. .

  11. Why did Chino decide to turn Vera and Nazario over to the detectives?

Chino decided to turn Vera and Nazario over to the detectives because they killed Willie bodega and he thought it wasn't fair for them to get off easy. Chino was having a conversation with Nazario and Vera at the funeral and discussing with them that there idea to kill Willie bodega and blame it all on him so they can gain his power for east Harlem wasn't going to happen. He felt like there actions weren't justified and he couldn't let them just cleanse right through this. One piece of evidence was ''No, the only one better off is you . You keep Vera, she keeps her husbands money''. This shows that chino thinks there plan to gain power was going to be used in a bad way and that there selfish and just wanted to receive money. Another piece of evidence is ''you betrayed all those beautiful things''. This shows that Nazario betrayed east Harlem and all the people that thought he was a good person but all along it was a set up for him to gain respect and power. This demonstrates why Chino turn Vera and Willie bodega into the detectives and got them arrested because he was trying to justify his community.

Why did Nazario choosed to kill Bodega?
In Bodega Dreams by Enrique Quiyones Nazario choosed to kill Bodega
because he always been in love with Vera and wanted to get Bodega out
    of the way
Who? Nazario came in the funeral when Bodega died and at the funeral
he showed up and Chino pulled him on a side and poked to him. One
textual evidence is " I know everything" I said to Nazario his eyes
narrowed.he got closer to me turning to the car where Vera was "you
killed Wille"He got even closer his face almost next to mine "this
works for all of us" This means that Chino doesnt fines right having
to see Bodega his friend killed by his own lawyer
