How does chino feel about bodegas request?
ReplyDeleteWhen chino hears bodegas request he treats it as a joke. In the story it says" I don't know, willie, that sounds like something out of the sixties". This shows that chino doesn't take it seriously because it sounds like something a person that's old would say. This is how chino felt about bodegas request.
How does Blanca feel about her aunt?
Throughout the story we can see how Blanca does not like her aunt. In the story it says" nothing in Blanca's voice or body language indicated the name Vera meant anything to her". This shows that Blanca does not care about her aunt and it also shows that her aunt has done stuff Blanca would not forgive her for. This is how Blanca feels about her aunts Vera
Ask more WHY questions instead of "how" questions in order to ask deeper analytical posts. By answering why instead of how you would be thinking more deeply about the texts and making inferences based on evidence, instead of merely summarizing. 7/10 for both posts

ReplyDeleteI believe that Bodega is just in it for the money and just wants to have control as for example he says and I quote, “With Nazzario I intend to make El Barrio my sandbox.” This quote just shows the true intentions of Bodega as all he wants is power and control. Although he seems to want to help people he knows it himself that he’s in it for two things only, power and money.
Does Bodega want to prove to everybody that Hispanic people can make a difference?
In the story we hear many times Bodega talk about how the Puerto Ricans were ridiculed because people thought they couldn’t do anything. “The cops would laugh; they said we had no ingenuity because we were Puerto Ricans.” This quote was said by Bodega and it proves that Bodega wants to show people that not only Puerto Ricans but all Hispanic can do something and be greater than they are now.

Chino showed a way of being thankful for getting the help from Bodega
to help him with Blanca since a kid is coming. "Mira Chino you need

because thats what he needs the help of somebody for him and Blanca
because shes needs the help and most likely because they are having a
baby and they both go to collage.

This shows Bodegas feelings because of the way he reacted to that and
how hes thinking right now about Chino having a baby when he doesnt
even have a job and he doesnt even have the nessesaries things for a
baby.
The quotes you've selected don't support your answers. The first quote is not stated by Chino and doesn't express gratitude, as you claim in your topic sentence. The same is true for your quote in the second response -- it doesn't express sorrow or caring on behalf of Bodega. 5/10 for both

ReplyDeleteProofread for errors in spelling/grammar/punctuation/capitalization. You lose points for these! You need to explain the connection between Chino and Sapo more and how this relates to Blanca. Your quote only talks about Chino but the question is asking about Sapo. Your explanation should explain why Sapo cares that Chino's wife doesn't like him smoking. 6/10

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion Chinos intentions with Blanca were good. Chino was associating himself with a drug lord just to provide Blanca and her trimester baby a better and bigger home. Chino love Blanca and in fact was very excited about the upcoming baby.in pg 44 he says "I wanted her to know she was still desirable and that i wasn't out there screwing other women" this proves that chino is loyal to Blanca and that his intentions are totally supporting and respectful.
